I have a 17 year old ski boat that has been rode hard, and was pretty beaten up.
I was considering buying a new boat but decided to have my boat refurbished.
A friend of mine referred me to JJ who did an excellent job.
I now feel like I have a new boat for a small fraction of the price. JJ rebuilt the
boat from the ground (hull) up and paid alot of attention to the little things
that make a difference. When I took the boat home, I found a very small problem
that concerned me and JJ immediately scheduled me in and took care of it.
I am very happy and have referred serveral friends and family to JJ.

12/28/07 ~ Do I have a story to tell.......
My 26' Sea Ray suffered a leak in the exhaust yoke, and I took it to two
different shops, one in Tigard, and one on Multnomah channel.
I was told the engine needed to be removed to fix the yolk. Logical.
The first shop removed the engine, and gave me a price estimate high enough
to cause a coronary. I asked them to just place the motor back in the boat,
and I would pick it up. They charged me $1000.00 for the privilege.
I took it to a second shop. They had a complete second hand car lot scheme
on the phone, complete with a show and tell of all the major problems the
engine had, and a price even higher than the first shop.
I told them I would be by to see it for myself. When I arrived, I was shocked to
find they had completely disassembled the engine! Seemingly I had no choice
but to buy the new engine they said I needed.
Then I saw JJ's on Craigslist and called. I liked their tone, told the second shop
to just put the engine in the boat and I would pick it up.
When I arrived at JJ's with the boat in tow and we lifted the hatch, we all gave
out an exclamation of shock I cannot repeat on the web.
The second shop had unceremoniously dumped the engine and the out drive
into the bilges. It looked like a junk heap.
From that point, I found integrity, honesty and competence. JJ and Karen and their
crew rebuilt the engine to perfection. It sounds and runs like brand new, and they
are always there with answers to questions and to support any issue.
I am very impressed with their business ethics and their obvious love for what they
do. They understand the scams and refuse to be a part of them.
They believe in honesty. They charge a fair price. They care.
I have two other boats headed to their shop. My only problem is , the secret is
out. People are learning about these guys. All the better, though.
We want them to stick around. God help anyone forced to go to these other places.
Thank you,
Dr. Vaughn Tidwell

Dear JJ and Karen,
I received your Christmas card. Wow, I didn't expect that. Very nice.
I'm really happy I decided to get my boat fixed at your shop.
I was almost lead to believe that I could only get salvage money out of my boat
and you guys fixed it up nice at a very reasonable price. When I have more issues
that arise, I'll be sure to call on you for help. Much appreciated.

Karen, JJ and Tim,
I'm going on my second year using your shop and couldn't be happier with the service
I have received.
I have been boating for almost 20 years and the service at your shop is by far the best
and most personable that I have had the pleasure of dealing with.
When I ran into Karen at the gas station on my way to the coast and gave me their
card, and as an informed consumer, I was skeptical but to have a shop that was this
good in my local area was a very pleasant surprise.
I am very pleased with everything you have done for me over the last couple of years
and plan to be back many more times.
Hopefully for some cool additions to my little boat in the near future.
Thank you again and you have earned a customer for life.
Thank You,
T Pausz

Harvey, Harvey, Harvey, if you only hand not taken advantage of me.
Well, I'm Glad you did. Harvey's Marine & Boat Shop in Aloha took me for a financial ride,
last year and the problem still was not fixed.
I started looking and found JJ's Boat Shop in the newspaper.
I took my boat in for a winterization, when they went down the list of services they perform
I knew I was at the right place.
I didn't get that used car lot feel like I did at the other place. (Harvey's)
After performing the winterization I decided to have them replace the deck, stringers
and transom and new carpet.
They did a great job and a fair price. They stand behind their work and follow up with you
to make sure you are happy and everything working like it should.
I highly recommend JJ's Boat Shop in Banks Oregon as they do excellent work..
Thanks again,

Thank you for fixing my boat! I appreciate you taking the time last weekend to understand
my tilt & trim problem.
As I mentioned on the phone, another shop serviced my out drive and hit me with a
pretty hard fee for the work they did.
I am glad your shop is local, knowledgeable, friendly, and trusting. I wish that I would
have known about your shop earlier this year.
I could have saved hundreds of dollars plus the hassle.

"Most of the established shops in Portland assume you - the customer- need them.
They are ridiculously overpriced, and customer service only exists for those who have big boats
and big money to fund them.
JJ's Boat Shop is the exception. Fair price, friendly service.... no matter what size boat you have...
that is what you get at JJ's Boat Shop.
They did a fantastic job replacing the floor and bed logs in our 1990 Bluewater.
The fiberglass work is 10 times better than the factory job, and the price did not break the bank.
Plus they had us back on the water when promised just in time for summer".

"I would like to say that JJ's Boat Shop is the best place to go for repairs and paint.
They have fair prices and when you come to them they work with your budget.
I posted an ad on Craigslist looking for somebody to paint my boat.
I received about 4 replies and 3 of which said go to a auto painter.
The Th was Karen from JJ's Boat Shop.
She said they would come out and look at my boat and see if they could do it for the price I listed.
They could do it for the price that I listed and they could upgrade the paint to a base coat,
with clear coat.
Now that the boat is back home it looks like a brand new boat. If you have any question or would
like to get a hold of them they are on Craigslist or you can contact me.
If you would like to look at it in person feel free to contact me and I would be happy to show it '
to you. Trust them with your boat and you won't be sorry".

" I took my boat in to get the engine replaced because I failed to winterize it properly.
With 2 weeks to go before Memorial Day JJ got me in , finished the work on time
(I got to use the boat Memorial Day) and stuck by his original estimate of the cost.
What they charged me I would have not have been able to get anywhere else.
They even checked out some issues I had that were unrelated to the engine replacement
at no cost.
JJ & Karen were very courteous, easy to work with and kept me up to date on the status of
my boat. I won't take my boat anywhere else."
